Our History

A view of the ocean from a high point of view.

Since 1996, Man Alive has been on a mission to provide essential services for men and boys. Our focus is to actively promote positive manhood and foster strong relationships through a diverse range of integrated services.

From its earliest beginnings, the story of Man Alive has been invested with the wisdom, heart, energy and spirit of far-sighted people committed to forging positive social change that contributes to awakening the unique spirit of men. The founders, and those succeeding them, were and still are passionate about creating opportunities for men of all ages to explore and create new ways of living. Their collective and enduring vision has engaged the imaginations of many to build strong communities grounded in rejuvenating and sustainable relationships.

Today, Man Alive is recognised as New Zealand’s largest and most comprehensive men’s centre. It has earned a strong reputation as a national leader in assisting men and boys to achieve a more positive, fulfilling and non-violent lifestyle.

We're not just about providing services; we're about igniting a positive transformation in the lives of men and boys, ultimately building communities that work for everyone.
